New Pattern: Prima Legwarmers!

It's been a little bit since I released a free pattern, so I thought today would be a good day to share a new one!

Prima Legwarmers: Lacy and textural! Show them off over a pair of tights...

I designed the Prima Legwarmers as a gift for a dear family friend who graduated high school this year. She's going to be teaching ballet to youngsters, and I thought a pair of legwarmers would be just the thing! Being Texan, I knew she would not want something heavy and fluffy, so I scoured my stitch pattern books until I found the perfect motif - lacy and delicate!

These legwarmers are worked from the top down, and as such can be knitted to fit the desired recipient’s leg length. The lace is quite stretchy, as is the 1x1 ribbing.

I've filmed a video tutorial for the invisible cast on for the 1x1 rib; you can follow the link provided in the pattern or just watch it right here:

Easy tubular cast on!

I think these legwarmers would be appreciated by any dancers you might have on your holiday gift list (just a few short months away now, can you believe it?), or knit a pair for yourself! You'll need just one skein of fingering weight yarn to complete the pair. My pair was worked in Romp of Otter Fingering from Alisha Goes Around, in the lovely Egypt colorway. Gorgeous!

Cute under a pair of boots for fall!

Queue up the pattern over on Ravelry right here. Not on Ravelry? Download the pattern for free anyway!
